Teen Empowerment Programs

Our Teen Empowerment initiatives are designed to support Latino youth in overcoming barriers and achieving their fullest potential. By providing resources, guidance, and opportunities for growth, we empower students to build brighter futures for themselves and their communities. These programs address key areas such as higher education, decision making, and leadership development, equipping teens with the tools to succeed. This initiative include:

Pathway to College

This program encourages students to pursue higher education or vocational training. Many Latino students in Cabarrus County face economic challenges that often push them into the workforce immediately after high school, perpetuating cycles of financial hardship.

To break this cycle, we offer admission and financial aid workshops in partnership with UNCC and RCCC. Additionally, we organize a comprehensive, day-long annual college boot camp for parents, which covers topics like career pathways, alternative education options, the admissions process, and more.

Cuídate
Empowering Youth Through Sexual Health Education

Cuídate uses a culturally tailored curriculum to promote abstinence while fostering self-esteem, personal empowerment, and responsible decision-making. This program addresses the unique needs of Latino youth, encouraging healthier lifestyles and equipping them with the tools to make informed choices that support their overall well-being.

Next Gen
Latino Leadership Camp

This program empowers Latino high school students by strengthening their leadership skills through workshops, mentorship opportunities, and exposure to diverse community leaders. Students receive valuable insights, inspiration, and practical advice from accomplished professionals, motivating them to dream big and pursue ambitious goals for their futures.

Health Equity Initiatives

We are committed to advancing health equity by providing access to essential services, supporting mental health, and addressing barriers that disproportionately affect the Latino community. Through a combination of free health services, strategic partnerships, and targeted programs, we aim to create a healthier, more equitable future for all.

Access to Health Initiative

Leveraging our strong relationships with community leaders and members, we aim to transform service provider policies and practices to enhance healthcare access for the Latino community. We are developing an "accreditation" model to recognize local agencies that effectively serve this population, while also supporting organizations with gaps by identifying areas for growth and improvement.

Vaccination Clinics

We offer seasonal vaccines at no cost to ensure that individuals and families have access to vital preventive healthcare, regardless of their financial situation.
